Biodiversity Lawyers @ FRIM

The Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM) founded in 1929 as the Forest Research Institute (FRIM) was a department under the Forestry Headquarters Peninsular Malaysia. FRIM promotes sustainable forest management and the optimal use of forest resources through the knowledge and technology generated from the various researches conducted. (http://www.frim.gov.my/)

I don't want to promote FRIM here.  I writing this because I want to share my biodiversity law class's trip to FRIM.  Nothing special about this trip, it is just  because I'm falling in love with this subject and I'm very happy to have trip during LLM.

I left early from home 6.30 am (punyalah semangat) and fortunately, it's not really jammed at Federal Highway.  I fetched Madi at Pantai Dalam and parked my WEY near 12th college. Madi, Mas and I was having nasi goreng for our breakfast while waiting Rumaysa at 12th college.  We decided to car-pool in order to save fuel. So, dalam pukul 8 pagi tu kitaorang bertolak ke FRIM.

Bila sampai kitaorang lepak2 dulu kat depan Pejabat Pentadbiran FRIM sementara menunggu classmates yang lain sampai.

cam gangster ko duduk babe..
Ooit..makan kuey teow kungfu

Tunggu Jeni ikat tali kasut

Even though pegi FRIM ni mcm ala - ala berkelah, tapi kitaorg kena join dengar lecture tentang 'Traditional Knowledge in Malaysia' at Lecture Hall, Pusat Inovasi dan Penyelidikan'. It was conducted by Dr. Lim and Dr. Musaadah and based on the lecture, I concluded that Malaysia is still lacking in law and regulations in order to protect biodiversity. Hah, simple gila conclusion.

Around 11.00 am, kitaorg start jungle-trekking.  It took almost one hour to reach at Check point Canopy Walk. Bukannyer jauh sangat pun tapi semua orang stamina tak kuat including Prof. Gurdial, we've to stop several times.

Dr. Lim and Samuel

Muka x penat g..

Check point canopy Walk

Baru jer sampai kat Check point Canopy Walkway, kitaorg dah rasa setengah mati.  So, jungle-trekking diteruskan lagi without any barriers.  With the help and assistance by FRIM's staffs, everything run smoothly. After 45 minutes, we reached at top even though penat gila baban.

KL's view
X tinggi pun, 3 m jer..

Canopy Walkway hanya setinggi 3m jer, xde lah rasa gayat sangat.

Macam squirrel turun, laju habis. Sempat singgah jap kat air terjun dalam tu. Sejuknya air dier, rasa macam nak mandi jer.

Dok tenung aper r 2..

Our last destination is Taman Etnobotani. After that, kitaorg pun balik ke rumah masing. So, dinner pun cancel..huuu..sedih..

After all, trip nie sangat bermakna for us as biodiversity lawyers becoz kita dapat banyak input tentang pemeliharaan dan pemuliharaan biodiversiti di Malaysia. Besides, we get to know each other well with this trip. Kelas Prof Gurdial memang terbaik!!
